Tom Del Becarro, chair of Rescue California, told War Room the effort to recall Gavin Newsom is almost complete.
“We have over 1.8 million people who have signed a petition,” he said. “We have Facebook groups in the hundreds of thousands…and they are striking back demanding government accountability.”
“It’s not necessarily a conservative movement per se, but it is an accountability movement,” Del Becarro said. “That needs to be tapped, because it’s not very much different than the reason Trump got elected.
“People are tired of unaccountable elected officials who dictate to them instead of foster their prosperity,” he said.
The former chairman of the California Republican Party said CPAC missed an opportunity by not focusing more on the grassroots recall Newsom movement.
“What other state has such an underground and now above ground movement?” Del Becarro said. “The answer is none. Other people want this accountability and we at Rescue California are delivering it.”
The one mention at CPAC was by former Ambassador to Germany Ric Grenell, who is rumored to be considering a run for governor of California.
Del Becarro said donations are still needed to ensure Newsom is recalled. “Whatever it is…we are spending this money to ensure we get more signatures. A $10 or 15 or 20 can help us.”
“We have got to get this across the finish line and send the biggest message of accountability that will be heard this year, and maybe even next,” he said.
Stephen K. Bannon said the recall effort is a “unity movement” of MAGA, independents, and Democrats “that are will finally going to think through what they want out of government.”
