Lydia Friend is taking on the bureacracy and the teachers who are standing in the way of her grandkids getting back in the classroom.
Friend, the founder of Women of Watts, is rallying other parents and grandparents against the Los Angeles Unified School District, which has kept kids out of school for over a year now.
“They say the issue is safety. I say the issue is politics,” Friend told War Room, Wednesdsay. “They’re just used to getting a paycheck and staying at home.”
Friend is featured in filmmaker John Spiropoulos’s new documentary on the lockdowns devastating affects on kids.
Friend puts the blame on teachers who are not living up to their promise to kids.
“You took an oath to teach our children,” she said. “I don’t know what’s going on with the teachers, if you’re scared you need to quit.
“Why are you allowing our children to suffer?” Friend said.
Friend said her faith has given her courage to speak out and fight the bureaucracy.
“Without God we can’t do it,” she said. “My faith is all I have. It’s dependent on Jesus, he’s the one who’s directing us to do it.
“We’ve got to get outside ourselves and help our children,” she said.
“That is a woman who’s not going to back down an inch,†said Stephen K. Bannon. “This is how this country gets turned around.â€
