Tina Peters, the clerk and recorder in Mesa County, Colorado, talks about the criminal case brought against her because she is fighting for fair elections. Peters ran for the GOP nomination for secretary of state earlier this summer, but was supposedly beat out by someone who has ties to Mark Zuckerberg. Peters has been fighting for transparency in that election and others.
“We have the law on our side. The law says they have to compare a sample hand count of voter verified ballots with what the machine said during the primary election for my race. They won’t agree. … We paid $256,000 for this recount. It has to be done properly.”
